The Fred Olsen Challenge of Spain will return to Tecina Golf in La Gomera for the seventh consecutive year with a new date from 14th to 18th July 2016, when the Challenge Tour players will hope to copy in the example set by the previous champions Rhys Davies or Brooks Koepka. All the Golf –pro are pursuing the same objective and that is to win the right to play in Tour Europe through the Challenge Tour, one of the most competitive and hardest tracks to overcome as the level of play is very high, a great school to develop in order to jump to one of the greatest tracks.
The majority of the Golfers are from Europe, especially England and Wales, but also Scotland, Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, Holland, Italy, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Norway, Finland Sweden and Portugal.

During without a doubt a great week of golf at Tecina Golf and which will begin on Wednesday 13th July with the celebration of the Pro-Am Tournament in which there will be 20 teams participating each formed of one professional and three amateur players. This social tournament will finish with a gala dinner attended by the authorities and the sponsors of the tournament, and where there will also be a prize-giving to the participants.

Tecina Golf is located close to Hotel Jardín Tecina. This demanding Par 71, designed by Donald Steel, has a total surface of approximately 55 ha. with a total length of 6.205. The playing area has a total of 30 ha., surrounded by 25 ha. of arid areas planted with typical plants from La Gomera and the Canary Islands, plus all the cart paths.
The Course is situated on the Lomada de Tecina, a privileged area with spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean, the Island of Tenerife and the Teide. This happens due to the fact that from the 1st Tee until the 18th Green there is a 175 metres drop and a downslide rate of 10 %, which gives a very wide vision angle. The player can see the Ocean from every spot on the Golf Course, which blends into a fantastic landscape that is a pleasure to the eye.
