If you are into cycling and two-wheel sports, La Gomera is the tourist destination you were looking for. The vast number of trails that make up our island, which are adapted both for foot and by bicycle, have made it one of the cycling destinations par excellence.

To enjoy all the charms of our island by bicycle, here is a route in which you will live an unforgettable experience with the natural landscapes of La Gomera. Shall we get going?

  • Starting point. One of the key points for starting your route and getting to know La Gomera by bicycle is the port of San Sebastián de La Gomera, capital city. From here, you can take a tour of the island's peaks, and enjoy the contrasts of nature that the area has to offer. During your way up, you will leave an arid landscape behind, to enter, as soon as you cross the tunnel that leads to the Hermigua valley, another green and leafy landscape characterised by the Laurel forest. Then, you will begin descending towards the coast to enjoy the village of Agulo, where you can decide to continue with the route or make a stop on the way.
  • Garajonay. If you decide to continue walking, after recharging your batteries, those who are up for it may face a new challenge, climbing the Alto de Garajonay, the highest point on the island at an altitude of more than 1,300 metres. This is a 42-kilometre climb with an intensive path with curves. The way back down to San Sebastian includes a long and continuous descent that will allow you to enjoy wonderful views which includes one of the symbols of La Gomera, the Roque de Agando.

But not only those who are fitter in this sport will be able to enjoy La Gomera by bike. The Garajonay National Park may be visited by joining one of our two-wheeled excursions. Routes adapted to all levels in order to know the wonders offered by nature in our island. Every Thursday you will have the option to join a guided tour through this National Park, with departure from and return to the Jardín Tecina Hotel. In addition, our partners from Gomera Bikes, at Valle Gran Rey, and La Gomera Cycling, in Playa de Santiago will be sure to offer you the best bicycle service you need during your stay on the island.
