Fred. Olsen Express again covers the interior route of La Gomera. The shipping company renews its continuos commitment to this island, connecting twice a day Valle Gran Rey, Playa Santiago and San Sebastián de La Gomera, by creating a new business model, designed exclusively to try and guarantee - maintain in time, without subsidies, the quality and success of this route.
Fred. Olsen Express has devised a new exclusive business model for this route - which includes the construction of a specific boat - in order to offer Gomerans, all residents in the Canaries, national and international tourists, a sea connection that complies with all the standards of quality, safety and comfort.
It is a self-manageable line, where from September, the passenger and the crew will be an active part of the process. In this way, on land, the passenger will have ticket machines with the help of a teleoperator, monitors that will inform the passenger in real time about topics of interest such as the exact minutes that are missing for the ship to arrive or the climatic conditions expected during the trip, among others.
In addition, the self-management of this model also concerns the crew upon arrival and departure of the Ports. And the new boat - christened Benchi as its predecessor and built in Barcelona for this route - has everything necessary for the sailors to do "self-mooring" quickly and easily, helped by the new pontoons (floating docks) that the shipping company is building and that will make this operation possible.
This new approach will be reflected directly in the cost of the ticket, thus offering the passenger the possibility of traveling in less time than if by road, aboard a minicruise with cafeteria, covered and uncovered areas, as well as other amenities, for an affordable price.
