Sustainability has become one of the most demanded aspects by tourists when choosing their holiday spot and La Gomera is the perfect destination for sustainable tourism. Proof of this are the five new wind farms that will be built on our island, which are currently in the construction phase.

These new wind farms, located in San Sebastián de La Gomera, will have the capacity to supply renewable energy to almost 11,000 homes and will prevent the emission of more than 23,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere. They are expected to start functioning later this year and will feature the latest in innovation with energy efficiency and environmental protection in mind.

In addition, La Gomera is the only Canary Island that has implemented the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism, an initiative that focuses on renewable energies and the protection of natural areas.

At Hotel Jardín Tecina we want to contribute to the sustainability of our island, and to this end, we conduct a set of actions aimed at looking after everything that surrounds us, providing our customers the best service and being committed with the environment. We promote sustainable tourism respecting the ecosystem around us, with the minimum impact on the environment and local culture.

In our day-to-day operations we develop a series of measures with the purpose of becoming a 100% sustainable hotel:

  • We use renewable energies
  • We implement energy saving measures
  • We promote organic agriculture through our Eco Finca Tecina
  • We manage and separate our waste
